Posts: 825 Group: Members Member #24 Joined: Apr 4, 2008	The Black Lotus Over a thousand of years ago, soon after the famous fighting style of Shao Lin had become of public knowledge, hundreds of different schools erupted in China, each one of them sporting its unique fighting style and philosophy. Among them was the Clan of the Black Lotus. Out of the hundreds of different schools and styles, the Black Lotus was one of the most obscure and secretive, and it was rumored that its members had discovered a unique power which required them to isolate themselves in constant training for the biggest part of their lives in order to master it. It is still unknown who the original founder was or how the clan survived throughout history up to this date. Thos few who knew about it thought it extinct... until now. The Black Lotus has re-appeared once more after nearly a century in the small city of Hyakuji in Japan, and has offered to teach its citizens for no apparent reason. After a demonstration of their abilities, they were offered a spot at Hyakuji High School in hopes of restoring the old and dead martial arts club. The Black Lotus gladly accepted the offer... The Ten Principles All beings possess the greatest of power within themselves. To reach that power one must know one self. To know one self one must recognize and destroy the illusion which covers the truth. To destroy the illusion one must let go of all attachments. To let go of one's attachments one must learn to tame the mind. To tame the mind one must first tame the heart. To tame the heart one must be honest. To be honest one must have courage. To have courage one must have spirit. True power is that of one's spirit. Rumor has it that the Black Lotus' fighting 'style' encompasses many different martial arts, as their members seem to know most fighting style out there. The truth is, the Black Lotus possesses its own, unique style, but it is kept a secret from most its members until they are deemed 'ready' to receive it. Many have waited their entire lives and have never been instructed in it no matter how good their fighting abilities are. When asked about this, Grand Master Yun, head of the Black Lotus, simply states that their bodies are ready, but not their spirits. Grand Master Yun Yun is the youngest person to ever achieve the title of Grand Master within the Black Lotus. Generally, it would take a person over three decades to become a regular Master, and until now no one under the age of 40 had ever reached such high skill, mastery and wisdom required to hold the greatest rank within the clan. What people, not even most other Black Lotus members know, is that Yun is actually much older than he appears to be. No one knows for certain just how old he is, but it is rumored that he surpasses even the oldest clan member, who is currently 75 years old and is Yun’s teacher and previous Grand Master. Even more strange is the fact that, according to many Black Lotus members, Yun has been in the clan for little more than ten years only and in that short period of time he was able to master all techniques and rise to Grand Master. There are many within the clan who resent that. All that’s know about his personal life is that he is originally from China just like most other members of the Black Lotus. His name means ‘cloud’ and was given to him after his white hair, which he’s had since he was born. His only known family member is a younger sister who attended Hyakuji High School and now still lives in the city after graduating. Some say he was happy to take the job as instructor there to be able to watch over his sister more closely, but in fact his reasons are far too different. In fact there are quite a few people in Hyakuji he has ties with and are important for his future plans. These actually include the training of talented youngsters and ties with a certain organization. Yun’s character is a mystery to those who meet him. Outside his dojo the man is polite and affable, though rather cold and business-like. When acting as teacher he is quite different and his personality and temper vary according to the specific person he’s talking to. He might yell and curse a guy to hell only to smile and talk sweetly to another one second later. When inquired about this behavior, Yun simply states he acts according to the specific needs of that person. “Some people learn faster with kindness, others need to get beaten into learning”- he says. He is always very reserved and will never talk about his personal life. Aside from his teaching sessions, the man’s never been known for losing his temper and always seems as if he was out of it, as if he was daydreaming. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- People who join Martial Arts Club do not need to be part of the Black Lotus. That is reserved for true Martial Artists who decide they want further training and development in their art, and they receive a very different kind of training and rewards. Regardless of whether you are a member of MAC or the Black Lotus, each training session you attend will count towards accumulating 'points' for your rewards, much in the same fashion those belonging to Arcadia do. If you are truly dedicated to Martial arts and you decide to join the Black Lotus you'll have more opportunities to get the goodies, but you must know not everyone can simply show up at the Black Lotus meetings, you HAVE to join and be taken in as a student. Fliers were posted everywhere at school stating the exact time and place of the meeting: a clearing in the woods... with a little map and all drawn on it. This is absolutely open and anyone can join at anytime during the topic, no restriction whatsoever. Just one rule: NO GMODDING ANY FRIGGIN NPC AT ALL! You CAN'T come in and say "my char came in and found this ninja attacking him and dodeged his attacks and anad uber-pwned him with his l337 asskicking skilzorz, lol! I say when you find somebody, I say what he/she does, and I say whether you touch him/her or not. Well... me and Yosuke. Ok that's about it, GO!
