What follows is a Mission by Mission log of the events and plot-going ons of Arcadia. From here on out their individual plotline will be contained here and future Missions will be logged here instead of blended in with the Main Plot thread. Please see the group thread for Arcadia if you're new and wondering what this group is. For the rest, read on:

Introductory Arc

Mission #001: Sigil and Sanctum
Arcadia's charter mission involved tracking down a man named Harvey Flint, a Chaos Mage from America. He quickly drew the attention from the B.P.R.D. for some of his more flashy exploits including his signature technique which involved scribing magical sigils that acted as proximity mines. He was determined to have fallen in with a local street gang experimenting with Chaos Magic and the B.P.R.D.'s research confirmed there was no justifiable reasoning for his actions.

Despite their attempt to capture him, Flint managed to escape B.P.R.D. forces, injuring several in explosions from his Sigil Mines, and escaped on the first flight he could take to anywhere. This led him to hiding out in Japan and as such the Bureau requested Arcadia to finish the task. The Water Division manged to track Flint down into hiding out in one of the abandoned warehouses in Hyakuji and Hiro Tsukasa quicklyed formed a 5-person team of Fire Division Members and joined them into the field to capture Flint.

Once at the building Prime Division members Celestial and Fenrir led the 5-person team inside to search for Flint; clearing the first and second floor as free from his presence or any of his dangerous sigils. Hiro Tsuksasa ominously stayed behind and confronted a man that had been watching them from the shadows whom he had sensed. The man introduced himself as Gabriel Moore, a veteran member of the Iscariot Order. Moore claimed that Flint was their target because in truth before arriving in Japan the Bureau had lost track of him and his most recent activities had taken place in Rome before fleeing their Order to Japan and thus he was their quarry.

Moore discredited Hiro's insistance it was now Arcadia's jurisdiction to handle the matter because those in the Iscariot Order were sanctioned by God and there was no way organizations like Arcadia or the Bureau, who use abominations such as spellcasters and monsters, to fight other monsters could be trusted to insure the safety of humanity.

As Hiro and Gabriel faced off one-on-one, the Arcadia Team (thanks to Jameson) discovered Flint and began a battle against him. Being foolhardy Elmind rushed forth into battle without paying attention and set off a chain reaction of Sigil Mines that Flint had prepared in wait of someone's arival setting off mass explosions throughout the third floor. As the battle continued Jameson stumbled upon the dead body of a young woman that attended the nearby college in the next city over; the sight was hellish and it was clear Flint had murdered her.

Meanwhile, the battle between Gabriel and Hiro reached its peak as the Iscariot Member activated the tech built into his katana setting it afire with flames that dealt increased damage to anything with supernatural power. At the same time he revealed himself to be a "Regenerator" or one who had undergone a complex series of genetic manipulations to make his body gain regenrative abilities and a resilience of damage citing this was different from Hiro because it was simply technology used so he could serve God better rather than blasphemous power.

Finding they were evenly matched the two were unsure how to achieve victory. However, the scale was ultimately tipped in Hiro's favor as Fenrir came to his aid while the team above managed to capture Flint. Faced with another opponent Gabriel consented defeat and decided to leave. However, he left the duo with a punching message wondering openly how his partner would feel knowing he was beat to the prey. Realizing this meant another Iscariot member was present Hiro quickly rushed back above with Fenrir to check on the other Arcadians.

Meanwhile, Flint tried a final desperate attempt to break free. This almost succeeded except once he'd gotten past the Arcadia Team he was met by a mysterious man, named Johnathan Carver, who happened to be Gabriel's partner. Getting the drop on Flint he killed him instantly with a katana similar to the one Gabriel had been using and then turned his blade on the Arcadians.

The group was spared another fight, however, as Gabriel returned and commanded Johnathan to stand down citing that they'd completed their mission and Arcadia was merely a side element. John consented but vowed the next time the two groups crossed paths they would slaughter every blasphemous Arcadian in sight.

Though victorious, not in the manner they had hoped, the Arcadia team had many injuries and they quickly organized themselves and helped to extract the injured members for medical attention and most importantly a well deserved rest.

Mission #002: The Dunwich Horror
Before this mission began Hiro Tsukasa personally assembled all student members to discuss the recent Wo-Shing/Kyrios massacre that took place in the city asking Arcadians that held membership in the group to step forward. Some did, most lied, and Hiro vehemently scolded those honest enough to step forward as he tried to dissuade them from continuing their association with Yakuza-like groups. To further illustrate the point Hiro showed the group a map of Hyakuji charting its supernatural ley lines and proving that due to all the recent gang war and negative emotions had built up a sort of negative force which some unknown party used to block up the city's ley lines and thus heightening the chance for supernatural threats. However, for the time being there was no info on their Mystery Party so the matter would be shelved.

More to the point, Arcadia managed to recover Flint's laptop and discovered he didn't flee to Hyakuji at random. As it turns out the gang he was with in America had ties to a small cult and this cult actually sent him to deliver a package to one of their associates in the city. Revealing that the package had already been delivered since Flint has nothing on him Hiro stated it was impossible to know the reason for this or if it dealt with Hyakuji's ley line issue.

Stating that the American Cult being their only lead Hiro had revealed that, in cooperation with the B.P.R.D., a weekend "field trip" to America had been arranged for Arcadia members. The assembled team left and arrived in Boston where they then took a short drive into the city of Arkham. Once there they would head to the Miskatonic University and meet with their B.P.R.D. liasion Miss Sarah Armitage along with her father, a professor of the university, and there gain further info on what was going on. It seemed to involve a cult worshipping some forgotten gods in a small country town known as Dunwich.

While at the University the team learned that the Armitage family had once dealt with such a problem before citing one of their ancestors during the 1920's dealt with a similar problem in Dunwich involving a family named as Whately who stole the University's manuscript copy of the Necronomicon. However, thanks to smart work by their ancestor they managed to recover the book and prevent any major problems occuring.

However, the current problem dealt with another cult book in the collection being stolen. One named Le Livre Des Chemins (translated: The Book of Paths). A book written by a forgotten French Count named Badeau. The book dealt with portals and pathways between worlds and much of this written overlapped with the Necronomicon's own entries about such things.

With this ominous information Arcadia headed on towards the sleepy town of Dunwich to begin investigation. Upon their arrival Hiro promptly vanished leaving Celestial and the squad to explore on their own. As they discovered clues and traces of the cult Hiro was lost in some pocket dimension face to face with a mysterious man of Russian decent. The man told Hiro that very soon Arcadia would begin to undergo a great trial and that this time should be handled by the group without him as a test of their skill.

The team eventually discovered the Cult was gathering at a local landmark known as Sentinel Hill (the same spot mentioned in the story of the Armitage's ancestor) and there intended to open a gate for an Outer God known as Yog-Sothoth, the Lurker at the Threshold. Yog-Sothoth knows all and sees all with his many eyes and as such can impart great wisdom and knowledge to his followers and also control gateways easily. The Cult intended to use Yog-Sothoth to call forth other beings of unspeakable names.

However, the Arcadia team managed to beset them before the ritual began and defeat them in one fell swoop while also recovering Le Livre Des Chemins. It was at this point Hiro was returned before the group and after returning the book to the University the squad bid farewell to Doctor Armitage and his daughter as they returned home. Unsure of the meaning of the vision Hiro had had of the Russian man he decided to keep this information from the rest of the team for the time being.

Mission #003: Demon Death Chase
Getting word that a demon from the Demon Realm had captured a small girl living in Hyakuji, Arcadia was organized via an emergency order to chase the target into the Deep Forest and ultimately, if it came to that, the Demon Realm itself to reclaim the small child. Due to the quick nature of the call several non-Arcadians also joined in to provided added support such as Hyakuji's own bounce-tastic Mayu.

Thanks to directions from the Wind Division the team managed to get ahead of their target and hide in wait. However, when the target arrived it turned out the information gathered was false. The captor wasn't a single demon but two male Sorcerers. As the chase began Hiro reconized their opponents as The Crowley Brothers. Two infamous but powerful mages blacklisted from all societies of spellcasters for their wreckless and evil desires.

After leading the team deep into the Demon Realm the duo revealed this had merely been a trap to lure them in as far as possible and then force them to be assaulted by demons and wiped out. Approaching a downed Hiro they sprinkled some odd powder upon him which bore no results. Then they began to teleport away but also added that to consider this little trap a greeting card from The Hellfire Club.

However, even this turned out to be a lie as their opponent was not demons but something far worse. At the same time the Brothers had tricked Arcadia into coming they had also slipped word to a high ranking Iscariot Order member known as Alexander Anderson that he could find a cult in the demon realm tonight. Stumbling upon the Arcadians and noting them as a gathering of sorcerers and supernaturally-powerd monsters the Priest was quick to pass a judgement of death upon the group.

As the team began a mass retreat fighting an army of skeletons blocking the path back Hiro Tsukasa engaged Father Anderson trying to buy them all time. However, against the raw strength of Alexander Anderson even Hiro Tsukasa had trouble holding his own. As Anderson overwhelemed Hiro, Evan and several other Arcadians came to his defense and this gave Hiro time to prepare one of his most potent spells: Dragon Slave. Hiro challenged Anderson that even though he was a Regenerator like many of Iscariot's Paladins he wondered if the man could regrow his body when it was blasted down to only a few cells. Admitting a "check" for the time being Anderson consented to leave but swore he would purge Arcadia and its blasphemy from the world one day.

Though defeated Arcadia had survied and as Mayu rushed forth to treat Hiro's wounds the rest of the group gathered themselves as they collectively exited the Demon Realm; in the least they had saved the small child from any harm. Arcadia returned to their base to treat wounds and wonder over what the Crowley Brothers had meant by "The Hellfire Club" and if this meant Arcadia had a new set of foes to worry about.

Mission #004: Mass Destruction
While patrolling the campus at night a few weeks later Hiro sensed an evil prescence invading the Fudo Dormitory. Calling out to any Arcadians available a small team was assembled including Hinata as the fist responder. As the group explored the dorm for the source Hiro sensed a powerful surge of spiritual energy on the roof of the dorm. It was then decided the team would continue searching while Hiro teleports above to find the souce.

The students were then jumped by monsters known as Shadows; the anti-thesis of Persona. They were also attacked by another Hellfire Club Member: a female android known as Kaldia which was originally built as an Anti-Shadow Weapon but had seemingly been reprogrammed for a new purpose. After fighting for a short time Kaldia retreated as another member of the Hellfire Club revealed himself, Joker-sama, claiming to be the source of the Shadows. What was worse is he casted down an unconscious Hiro Tsukasa, defeated, after their encounter on the roof.

It was then that Joker-sama activated the spell known as Old Maid in which tarot cards fluttered to everyone present and a roulette of sorts occured ultimately selecting Arcadia's own bunny girl Discord. In a flash Discord suddenly held the same face-paint as Joker and had become brainwashed to fight for him.

Laughing at the inept ability of Arcadia, Joker-sama taunted them for falling for both The Crowley Brothers trap and now his own. He then dropped hint about some concert happening at a small club just outside Hyakuji and suggested they visit to learn more about The Hellfire Club. Following this, Joker-sama and the remaining Shadows vanished.

Defeated once more but with everyone uninjured Arcadia regrouped to discuss the information left to them. It was obviously a trap, however, they reasoned it was also their only source of figuring out more about their enemies.

Return of Cain Arc

Mission #005: House of Wolves
With no other leads Arcadian members attended the small bar on the outskirts of Hyakuji sneaking in disguised and ready for a trap to be sprung. It seemed the agenda at the club was for a band on tour to perform. As the time quickly arrived for the concert to begin Hiro Tsukasa noticed some regular students from the school had snuck in as well, unconnected from Arcadia; most troubling of all was his current love interest Kurei, Amaya Matsuda's clone.

As Hiro tried to convince Kurei to leave the band approached the stage, a small group of pale skinned men with menacing features. The lead singer introduced himself as Judah and his band as the Get of Cain. As they began to perform the Arcadians noticed that Judah's word held some magical sway over the regular people in the crowd putting them into a sort of lucid trance. Suddenly, it became apparent new people were joining the crowd; peope that resembled those on the stage in features. At the height of the song these mystery people began to attack the crowd feeding on anyone in sight revealing in truth the Get of Cain and its followers there were in fact: vampires. The club quickly became a blood bath before any Arcadians even had time to interact.

Finishing their song the band dove into the crowd to join in the revelry and slaughter as Hiro demanded Kurei to leave and then rushed to join the other Arcadians against the vampires. Lost in the sea of opponents everyone lost track of their apparent leader, Judah, who swiftly discovered his own target: Kurei. As Arcadia remained locked in battle Judah toyed with Kurei assaulting her with violence and twisted words. The vampire identified himself as something of a supporter of chaos citing that he detested people who always made plans and thought they could control all situations from them. He went on to also explain to the young girl that luring Arcadia to the slaughter was merely the start of their plans and that they had a much more fun game in store.

Judah then revealed that he too was a member of The Hellfire Club, but that he felt the plans of The Crowley Brothers and Joker-sama were trifling and immature. Instead, he wanted to unleash pure chaos upon Arcadia to deal with and thus decided to break ranks and leave the Club taking with him another member and subordinate known as Count Viscard along with a special ritual their leader had shown them. This ritual would allow for the revival of defeated vampires and through this Judah and Viscard hoped to revive their Sire, Hiro Tsukasa's long time (but defeated) rival known as Cain. It was then that he planned to not only have Hiro turned to their kind but also Kurei forcing both him and the one he loved to become the very thing he hated most.

Judah then whisked away Kurei as the core members of the band fled as well leaving behind a bloody message taunting Hiro to give chase and, wreckless as always, the Arcadia leader abandoned the team there to give chase to Judah. However, realizing the danger of the situation and that Hiro would clearly be walking into a larger trap many of the team went on after him.

Mission #005.5: The Return of Cain
Judah stole away with his gang of vampires to an abandoned warehouse in a seedier part of Hyakuji. As he awaited Hiro Tsukasa's inevitable arrival he toyed with Kurei entracing her with his powers and proceeded to physically and mentally abuse the girl. Judah had also revealed that long before siding with the Hellfire Club temporarily he had been stalking Hiro and watching his actions and interactions with others; even since Cain's defeat in hopes of obtaining revenge.

Judah went on to reveal Hiro's secrets to Kurei including that he had also been romancing her own creator, Lillian, at the same time as her sending her into a spiral of emotions just as Hiro arrived. Confused she confronted Hiro and the realization of what had been revealed deeply impacted the mage leaving him to face Judah hardly in peak condition. Soon, other Arcadians arrived for the fight facing off against more vampires from the Get of Cain.

As they tried to battle their way ahead to Hiro, Hinata had an awful realization. Viscard had a sort of cauldron gathered and she well knew that those were used as a focus for spells and rituals. Clearly, this plus the wave of vampires isolating Hiro from the rest of the team held some relevance and in this light the team began to fight even harder to break through.

However, these efforts were too late. Viscard completed the ritual he had been working on and suddenly from within the cauldron rose no other than Cain fully revived and reformed. Cain wasted no time as he summoned the Devil Arc, a legendary sword forged within Hell, and began to attack Hiro Tsukasa hellbent on revenge. As the two dueled Arcadia desperately continued fighting through the Get of Cain but their arrival closer proved unfruitful as Viscard revealed himself as a Master of Barrier Magic making a powerful shield to let the duel continue. Cain taunted Hiro trying to force him to use his final casting of Exodus to defeat him again but in the process damn himself to join Cain in Hell. Refusing this, Hiro Tsukasa continued his own desperate struggle.

For a second it seemed as if Hiro had defeated Cain but those proved to be a feint allowing him to get close enough to grab Arcadia's Leader and in one fell swoop drain him of his blood and turn the Monster Hunter into the very thing he hunted best. As Hiro awakened as a Vampire the barrier by Viscard faded. As the Arcadians present went into a frenzy of anger Cain excused himself citing there were no more foes present worth fighting and likewise Judah (with Kurei still captured) left with Viscard leaving behind some of the Get of Cain members to fight Arcadia. Realizing it was a waste to bog down with so much direct fighting Jameson lit the building afire well knowing the flames would raze the remaining vampires in the process.

As Arcadia began to vacate Vampire Hiro was lost in the confusion and the team managed to escape as the remaining Get of Cain members were defeated at the cost of steep collateral damage. Defeated and now at a loss for a leader Arcadia regrouped at its mansion only to be met again by Sarah Armitage, their liason from the B.P.R.D. and also one of the few that had helped form Arcadia originally.

She explained that after being made aware of Arcadia's situation she came personally bringing two special people along with her that she wanted them to meet. These people were a couple by the names of Isaac and Claudia, both vampires. It seemed they worked in America running a detective agency solving supernatural cases and had worked many times in unison with the Bureau to crack cases. It was, by the Bureau's behest and Sarah's decision, decided that this duo would assume temporary command of Arcadia in Hiro's absence.

Many were against this appointment as fundamentally the duo were the same as the monsters that attacked the club, turned Hiro and kidnapped Kurei. Several, including Jameson and Miyuki, even outright refused to take orders from them. However, after some tense discussion and reassurance from Sarah Armitage the group at least listened to them.

Isaac & Claudia were quick to work revealing much of the backstory between Cain and Hiro that most had no clue of as well as identifying Judah as one of Cain's "children." They explained a bit of their own history and the great numbers of years they spent practicing until they could control their own bloodlust to allow them to ineract calmly and safely among humans and thus use their "curse" as a gift to help others rather than prey on them. They also more directly explained the Bureau's logic for their temporary appointment citing that the best way to hunt and track the vampires would be via other vampires.

They then explained the next step would be to try and capture Hiro Tsukasa and hold him within the mansion as the rest of Arcadia began researching various theories presented about ways to revert Vampirism. Isaac brought up the first as one he'd heard of known as Golconda which was something of a meditative like state, but it seemed unviable as it would take eons to master and even so no known teachers of it existed. Stating they'd been through much and needed time to let this all sink in the group was ajourned to get much needed rest.

Mission #006: Raid
Over the next few weeks much happened. Organizing their efforts the group managed to track down Hiro and capture him sealing him away in the basement of Arcadia's Manor under several magical locking spells to prevent his escape while they mounted a search for a cure. Through research Arcadia's own special android Alfred discovered a method of returning to mortality for vampires known as Golconda, which Isaac had originally hinted at. However, from experience Isaac and Claudia detailed the very myth-like fashion of the technique and their own failed research on the matter from aeons ago.

While many bemoaned the seemingly dead end, the sheer luck of another brought salvation. Without entirely intending for the results Arcadia's own paper master Evan met with another of the Hellfire Club's members, a rather curvy woman know as Nyala, who explained to the boy that the Club wished to sever ties from Judah and by association Viscard. It was not the Club's intention to deal with Cain and his return marked a rather decided end for Arcadia. In veiled words the woman explained that for the time being the Club desired Arcadia to grown stronger to push the Club itself to grow stronger. Without giving away more Nyala presented Evan with a special cure for vampirism that needed only to be drank by Hiro.

However, it seemed as if this salvation had come to late. Even before Evan could return with the cure, let alone have it anaylzed or debate over its safety in use Hiro Tsukasa was mysteriously snatched from within his cell. It was at this point that Isaac made a bold revelation to the group. Within Arcadia's informationally-related divisions there was a traitor for the Hellfire Club and it was not only by their hands that Hiro vanished but also the lack of information that caused the previous trio of missions to fail.

With no time to reason out this defector all of Arcadia was mobilized to retrieve Hiro. Once again at the abandoned warehouse Judah had assembled the remained of the Get of Cain along with Viscard for his ultimate revenge against Cain's murderer. During the span of downtime Judah had used a technique known as blood-bonding that forced Kurei to, even against the strongest of her own wills, become his perfect slave. In a final scene, before Hiro's very eyes, Judah hoped to make love to Kurei forever scaring Hiro's mind and forcing him to fully accept the rage of his vampiric state and thus making him impossible to even become a reformed vampire such as Isaac and Claudia.

As the brunt of Arcadia rushed in directly, Isaac and Claudia took to the rooftops where they encountered another duo of vampires called in by Judah known as The Valentine Brothers. The Brothers had tusseled with Isaac and Claudia in the past and while Arcadia itself faced off against the Get of Cain its temporary leaders dueled against the Brothers. Thanks to the firepower of Jameson's current assitant Miyuki, Arcadia was able to permanently sever Viscard's Barrier Magic and at great injury on his own Evan was able to reach Hiro and administer the cure which, despite the risk, seemed to work perfectly.

However, to the insult and surprise of all Hiro bolted from the battle swiping Kurei and bailing on everyone. In truth, he was about to perform a very dangerous procedure to remove the vampiric blood in Kurei and save her from the mental control Judah had. As this went on Arcadia showed its own improvements from its previous failures and making expert use of chaining off one anothers moves and attacks the group essentially ganged Viscard and Judah into their final deaths. Above a similar victory was reached as Isaac and Claudia effortlessly bested the Valentine Brothers proving they too had grown since whenever they had last faced the duo. Mix in a lot of over the top powers and of course Rozanny's unstable control of fire... it wasn't long before the building began to collapse and having just finished the process of healing Kurei, Hiro teleported everyone outside.

It was a time for relief and celebration, but the fight was not over yet. Like some hiddeous nightmare Cain then arrived on the scene. He cared little for the foolish action of his Childe, Judah, and had thus remained hidden till now. As if he understood without words Hiro approached for them to duel to the death a third and final time. The battle was long and each used the full extent of their Supernatural powers. Originally, Hiro had bested the monster using a Forbidden Spell that could only be utilized 3 times before killing the User. Cain, exerting all the force he could, desperately desired to force Hiro into casting it for his third and final time in his life. However, proving that he too had grown since their last meeting, Hiro chose another path that Cain refused to accept and amplyifying his own Dragon Slave Hiro unleashed the energy as a powerful sword slash from the enchanted sword named Tyrfing.

Although the aftermath was not uplifting... Arcadia was still in shambles with many members outright confused with how to take Hiro as a leader and Kurei herself mentally scarred from the time with Judah... for the very least the Hellfire Club seemed to be on hiatus giving them time to breath and pick up the pieces. With their proper leader returned Isaac & Claudia, now with a sense of comraderie with the Arcadians, bid them best wishes and farewell as they returned to America. Cain was defeated for good along with his followers the Get of Cain.

Swordquest (Filler) Arc

Mission #007: DENSETSU NO EXCALIBUR
Much later things had calmed down within Arcadia. Hiro Tsukasa had taken the time to explain himself to the members and most had forgiven him. The Hellfire Club seemed entirely off the radar and though some were researching into the Arcadia mole that too seemed a dead end for the time being. However, as things finally settled down Hiro called for a meeting. For once the task wasn't urgent, but still a needed mission. Hiro told the Arcadians about Four Legendary Swords which each held immense power. Realizing that eventually the Hellfire Club would return and continue their war against Arcadia he felt action needed to be taken immediately to bolster their forces.

As such Hiro told the group the legends of Excalibur, Masamune, Ragnarok and Durandal. Arcadia had discovered the location of Excalibur and the other three were being researched. As such a team was to be dispatched to go attempt retrieving Excalibur and more teams would be dispatched as the others were found. While some questions how the sword was still available Hiro cited that the location of Excalibur was well known but that only someone with a courageous and virtuous heart could inherit its power.

A team consisting of Rozanny, Ryo and Kage were dispatched to the cave where Excalibur lay waiting. As the trio entered the cave they met no resistanct and quickly found the main chamber were Excalibur sat its blade stabbed down into a large stone slab waiting to be pulled forth. While they worried about traps eventually Ryo approached the sword and attemtped to pull it from the stone. However, this set off glittering light as the sword began to speak to them and even then proceeded to transform into a small, white cartoonish creature wearing a top hat and holding a cane.

The being introduced himself as Excalibur and citing that his legend began in the 12th Century. What followed was a series of zany and comical bouts as the the three attempted to listen to and agree to Excalibur's 100 Points for becoming the bearer of his power. Though many were nonsensical and almost absurdist Rozanny took charge and persevered through keeping a kind and understanding tone towards Excalibur. Ultimately, Excalibur decided Rozanny and her goal was worthy of his power and as such Excalibur returned to his sword form allowing them to return with the blade and accepted it both as a new member and a new addition to their armory.

Mission #008: How Does One Handle a Sword?
When the location of Ragnarok had been discovered it seemed the legendary blade was in the ownership of someone. This team would be dispatched with the potential for combat. Before their exit Hiro took aside Discord, Alfred and Jameson showing them a peek at the latest development of Arcadia's anti-supernatural arsenal. The Intercept X Attacker System Ver. I or better simply known as IXA was a Rider System developed by Arcadia solely for direct combat with supernatural forces. Hiro granted the belt and IXA Knuckle to the three to share as he wished to have the unit tested to gain field data on the Rider System for further improvements.

A much larger team was then dispatched to a small foggy European town in the country. The Team then tracked down Ragnarok and its own to a small catherdral on the outskirts of the town. Within the cathedral they encountered an odd androgynous teenager known as Chrona who seemed to be wielding the Ragnarok and had just used it to slaughter some local gang members that had accosted him.

As the Team began to face Chrona it was revealed that, like Excalibur, Ragnarok was also alive taking the form of an odd black ghost-like creature that extended from the blade. The being seemed to be non-sensical, though in a less off the wall manner from Excalibur, and also seemed to not only be telling Chrona what to do but also teasing and tormenting him as it saw fit.

Despite having aid from a disguised Hiro, Chrona and Ragnarok proved to be an incredibly destructive force overpowering the Team's combined might. The sword itself held tremendous power and in the hands of Chrona whom the blade could manipulate at will it was free to exert itself to its full potential. In desperation, Jameson made the first test run of Arcadia's Rider System becoming Kamen Rider IXA but even with the system's boosted power he couldn't overcome Ragnarok.

Suddenly, Chrona retreated at the behest of Ragnarok mentioning that they had exerted themselves too far and it would be dangerous to keep fighting so many when they were in such a state. With the match ending with a draw the Team warped back home and promptly decided to write off obtaining Ragnarok in the current state. Whether they would be forced to cross paths again with the cursed sword and its user Chrona and/or be forced to fight again was unsure but it was quite clear the trouble to wrench it from Chrona's grasp would be too great for a sword with a mind of its own and one that clearly wouldn't be sympathetic to their cause like Excalibur was.
