The Organization's uniform, she mused, was comfortable, but not quite practical for hot days. As she sat down outside a cafe on Grand Avenue, Thifax fiddled with the zipper on her coat, wondering if it would be allowed to take off her coat when the weather got hotter, assuming they would still be continuing this battle by summer. Currently it was a non-issue, what with the weather being cool and all. Given her background and powers, it was easy to assume that she was more accustomed to hot weather than cold in the first place.

Thifax had to agree with that statement. Physical discomfort was a sensation, not an emotion, and she was still biologically a human being. Instinctively, she would still shy away from that which brought her discomfort or pain. As such, she shared Faith's dislike for cold and rainy weather, the latter of which always made her feel sick. However, today was pleasantly cool and sunny, so that wasn't an issue either.

Those irrelevant things aside, Thifax wondered what exactly she was doing here. This was not necessary for reconnaisance, and certainly nothing emotional had brought her out here. She didn't have any emotions anyway. It was definitely not for the soda on the table in front of her, as there were comparable things in the kitchen at the Castle. Yet something still overrode logic and told her that while going out to Grand Avenue wasn't exactly beneficial, it was not harmful to their cause anyway.

"Did you hear about...?"

"Yeah, I heard she's like..."

"What? Really?"

Thifax didn't even look up as a giggling group of girls passed, raising the glass closer to her mouth and taking a sip from the straw. Snippets from their conversation floated over to her from where she sat. For a moment, just as they entered her vision, she remembered another time, when she was walking around and giggling with a shorter girl that wore glasses and a taller, skinnier girl that had a guitar case around with her a lot.

Patricia and Bella... The names came back to her easily, but they carried no meaning for her this time.

Thifax took a sip. It didn't matter anyway.

Life was exploring this new world with a smile on his face as well as a frown. "There are beings that are not humans all around yet they seem ignorant of that fact." life walked down the street swinging his bat in a circle like he habitually did with out knowing it. Life stopped in his tracks and almost dropped his back. "What is this?" the life in this person? its as if it was incomplete... how is that possible? life walked closer to the person drinking a soda with out realizing it and just stared at her until he bumped into a chair a few tables down from her. as I get closer the life inside her acts as if it was whole yet inset? "fuck it im to interested in this to pass it up." life grabbed the chair and brought it over the girls table put it down and sat in it staring at her. "What are you?" I must know! Ever since the worlds have connected I have encountered what should be impossible...

A loud scoff emanated from the adjacent table and though the customer at the table had been obscured until this time by the newspaper that was being held up to read easily without taking all the table space it was quickly folded and sat down as Hiro Tsukasa's eyes quickly darted from the one who had asked "What are you?" to the young woman he'd apparently launched the line at.

He was dressed as usual and as such didn't really fit out from the brunt of the citizens. This world had become of particular interest to Hiro as it seemed to be teeming with an unusually large ammount of vampires (far larger than Hyakuji's World) and as such he saw it almost like some twist of Norse Legends about eternal hunting grounds for heroic warriors; in the same vein this world was something of a hunting ground for him.

However, with his limited powers that brought a new element to such work: planning. He could no longer simply divine the location of supernatural monsters and bust in spells-blazing and giving it his all then come out victorious and mostly unharmed. Now he had limits and limits meanting planning to account for things his limits could not overcome. He'd been reading the newspapers regularly because it seemed, in some sick sort of fashion, that the vampires almost had a sort of hidden night life social club of sorts and in a round about away had their hands, or perhaps better named fangs, into a lot of high profile businesses around the city.

Had he his old powers Hiro would've sensed Life's own powers and understood just why he'd approached the young woman at the table. However, this was far from the case.

As such, the outburst of someone shouting "What are you?" warranted a look and now with the scene before him Hiro Tsukasa could not resist and opened his mouth, slowly, speaking in a cooled questioning tone, "Hey Kid, are you serious? Are you that rude you just run around getting in people's faces and asking them cryptic things like, 'what are you?' Or is that meant to be some kind of pick-up line? If so I can save you some time... she's too pretty, won't work."

Thifax took note of someone approaching her table, but didn't look up until he addressed her personally. She looked up at him and looked him over with a deadpan expression, as if she was studying him. He didn't particularly seem like anyone of note, and by normal standards, his outburst was rather uncalled for. The man that spoke up next seemed to summarize things perfectly, so she saw no need to tell him off.

Instead, she placed one slender finger on the straw in her glass, spinning it around slightly. When she spoke, she spoke as if she was simply stating facts, injecting a little bit of disdain into her voice as well. "I'm human and female, that's XX, a Caucasian and Asian mix, a Spanish and Filipino citizen, a teenager...and not interested." The corners of her lips turned up in a smirk as she looked at him. "Does that answer your question?"

Now that she was done telling him off, she turned to face the man who had spoken in her defense. Thifax's eyes widened slightly in recognition, a gesture that didn't have the required emotion behind it, but was so automatic to her that it happened nonetheless. The words 'Tsukasa-sensei' were at the tip of her tongue, but she didn't say anything, her face quickly returning to its deadpan expression before he could notice.

"Thank you," she said, before glancing back at her soda. If Thifax was emotionally inclined to, she would have cursed at this point. Physically, she looked exactly like Faith, and unless Hiro's memory was especially bad, he might remember a Filipina Arcadia member and Hyakuji student by the name of Faith Azcona, who had once come to his bookstore with a riskily acquired shard of the Angel's Tear.

Without emotion and dressed as an Organization member, she looked different enough to be passed over as a close resemblance, as long as it wasn't under close scrutiny.

Life looked annoyed by the man sitting at the other table but returned his gaze back at girl affront of him. "You are not human, this is fact. I have seen to many humans for me to be mistaken. And you as far as I know in this world, do not belong. I have studied the other intelligent animals here and have seen no other like you. Nor have I ever seen one like you in any world I have been to. So let me repeat my self. What are you?" Life looked over at the man at the other table. His life force is something of note to, but is minor compared to her. If I can create animals with incomplete life forces my power will grow, and I need that power. Let alone the fact he is either unaware of the fighting around him or just doesn’t care. But her.... I just can’t read anything but that her life is incomplete. Life looked back at the girl. "Well?"

The kid seemed persistant and there was something strikingly rude about the way he forcefully commanded "You are not human, this is fact." Who tells that to someone? Hiro wondered. In any case, there was something more puzzling to Hiro. He couldn't quite place it but the woman at the table seemed very familiar; but yet not. An Arcadian? A student of his? Both? Perhaps it was the clothes she wore or maybe he'd gone so long apart from people from Hyakuji his mind was slipping.

Laughing softly he rose and walked towards the table standing beside it between Thifax and Life glancing from one to the other. "Does it make you feel like a man to run up to beautiful women and tell them they're not human? Or is there a punchline I'm not getting?" Hiro addressed Life in a biting but joking tone.

"Anyways, she's human," Hiro continued as he glanced towards Thifax, "I know you, don't I? You were one of my students at Hyakuji?" The words of the question trailed off slowly as if Hiro were grasping for more to say. He felt like a name was just on the tip of his tongue but still obscured in DARKNESS and he wondered just why she looked so familiar yet he couldn't place a name to the face.

At this point in time, Thifax was wondering whether or not it would be acceptable to scorch the boy and leave before she gave up her identity. She decided that it wouldn't be. After all, Xemnas's orders were clear at this point. They were to appear on the people's side, against the Heartless and their DARKNESS. So for now, she would bide. Being emotionless left her with an infinite supply of patience to draw from.

"I am human," she said, "If you don't believe me, you can check my DNA. I'm sure there's a sample on that straw if you're that desperate. Unless the scientific community changed the definitions of humanity, you don't have a leg to stand on." That done, she calmly took another sip of her soda and turned towards Hiro again as he mentioned her looking familiar.

She was reluctant to reveal herself, but at this point, did it actually matter? Xemnas had already gone public about the Organization. If Hiro did not know anything about her, then he wasn't there to see Xemnas's dog and pony show. Besides, she had an obligation to find out as much as she could. The Organization might be interested in the fact that this man had appeared out of the blue. She wasn't the only one that remembered him.

"I was Faith Azcona," she said, "Was, being the operative term. As you can see, the Heartless invasion left me missing a few key pieces...particularly a Heart. Currently, I'm Thifax, and I'm with Organization XIII. You weren't at Shinya when Master Xemnas made his speech?"

Life looked up at the man. "You sir have right to act so, but you are preventing me from reaching my goals." Life looked back to the girl as she dodged his question. "I do have a leg to stand on." Life got up and materialized his life bat and struck the table absorbing the life in it then created a pidgin. "I have plenty to go on, I am the master of life. I control it and I rebuild it. So why is yours incomplete? You are not human and I want to know what you are!" Life raised his bat and pointed it at her. A heart? Organization XIII? Was faith but is now, Thifax? Life lowered his bat some but kept it up.

"Shinya? Xemnas?" Hiro questioned curiously as his mind raced over both words, "I've never heard of either..." The sad truth was Hiro Tsukasa was very much removed from the current state of the Multiverse. Frowning as Life aimed and then lowered his bat he found it pretenous that even after being given an answer this kid refused to stand down and even raised a weapon in public, at a peaceful cafe no less, over the matter.

"Listen," Hiro continued speaking towards Life in an annoyed tone, "I'm not sure what all this missing Heart stuff means but if this young lady here is or was or even at one time slightly was Faith then if you intend to wield that bat against her you're going to have to go through me first."

A pale blue aura swirled gently around Hiro though nothing else happened. He was prepared to summon his Persona if it came to that and to Life it might even feel like there were two separate life-forces originating from where Hiro stood. None of it really made sense to him. Who was Xemnas? What did the girl mean by not having a heart? Why did this kid care so much whether she was human or not?

Thifax barely even blinked when Life threatened her with the bat. She turned towards him, regarding him calmly and coolly. When she spoke, she sounded as if she wasn't under threat at all. Her voice was quiet, but it carried with it the confident air of someone who knew that she was in no danger at all. "If I were you, I wouldn't do that," she said, "I'm not of a mind to fight you, but if you continue to threaten me, I might be forced to act in self-defense. And I will hold nothing back."

It might have been percieved as a threat, but it was nothing more than a simple statement of facts. Thifax was not naturally violent. She wouldn't attack unless she was ordered to or provoked. If he continued to threaten her, then she would not be held responsible for anything she did in self-defense. She knew the power she held at her disposal since losing her Heart and joining the Organization. And that was just her own power. Couple that with a few of her Snipers, and it would be impossible for Life to win at this point.

Besides, it looked like Hiro was of a mind to defend her as well. Thifax turned towards him, ignoring Life completely as he asked about Shinya and Xemnas, obviously confused. "I guess that's a no," she said. Of course she knew that Hiro wasn't there. If he was, there would be talk. But she couldn't exactly tell him that the Organization would possibly be interested enough in this to care.

She settled back into her seat and folded her arms, glancing back towards Life and the bat. "Having no Heart means I don't feel emotion," she said, "It does not make me, biologically, any less than human. Although of course, some might argue that emotions are part of humanity. I'm not going to argue against it. Are you satisfied?"

life glanced at Hiro. then back to Thifax. "no i am not and you are persistent in avoiding my questions. a heart is just an organ in many animals used to pump blood through out there body, so not having one would seem to be a diversion. your life force is incomplete and i need to know why, if you will not tell me that is fine. i would not harm a being with life with out due cause, and even if yours is incomplete i will not take it from you. but i will tell you this i will not relent in finding my answers, even if i must follow you to the end of every last world here." the pidgin flew up and away from life heading to an unknown location. life dismissed his life bat. and turned to Hiro. "since my original questions can not be answered at this moment ill get to you. why is it that your life force shows that of two beings? one is young by your standards and one is the one i see before me."

"Heh," Hiro laughed softly as the blue aura slowly vanished and the sense of a second life within his body vanished, "You sure are nosy, Kid. I honestly shouldn't tell you just out of spite but if it'll avert your obsession a little I'll explain."

Turning Hiro grabbed the chair from his table and pulled it forth so he might sit down across from Thifax shooting a friendly grin towards her. Letting out a short sigh he looked back towards Life again and spoke, "Alright... what you sensed was a power known as Persona. Think of it as a metaphysical representation of ones personality."

He could've gone further in depth but for the time being he didn't know or really feel he could trust Life. Why was he so interested in the lifeforce of everything? It could easily be for dubious aims. It was far best for him to know as little as possible about his own powers while still being told what they are.

Thifax knew enough about emotions to know that if she still had them, she would have been up in arms against Life by now. As it was, she waited until Hiro finished speaking, however allowed herself to mimic impatience as she traced designs on the table with one finger, narrowing her eyes and tensing up as she waited for Hiro to finish talking.

The fact that he had a Persona was not new information to her. The more experienced members of Arcadia could achieve the same feat. However, one thing struck out. Hiro had many other spells at his disposal. Why then, would his Persona be the first that he picked to defend her? Why not something weaker but more efficient for the task at hand? At this point, she was grateful for her lack of emotions. Had she really been as impatient with Life as she seemed, she would have completely missed that one little detail.

When Hiro was done, she turned towards Life without giving him a chance to speak. She could not have him following her across the multi-verse because of an obsession. Too much was at stake here. Logic dictated that she give him the answers that he wanted, because their existence was not the secret here.

"I just told you," she said, glaring at him as she turned towards him, allowing feigned irritation and frustration to seep into her tone. "I don't have a Heart. Not the physical heart, not the organ that pumps blood. I have that. What I don't have are emotions. If you want the simplest possible explanation, the Heartless ate me, took my Heart to make a new Heartless and left me for dead. And I didn't die. That's why I'm incomplete. I don't have a Heart. Do I have to say it again, or do you understand it now?"

She took a deep breath, supposedly to "calm herself down" and rolled her eyes at Life. "I don't need a Heart to recognize a waste of space when I see one."

life look upon Thifax with a look of almost disgust. "if you have no emotions as you say then why do i sill impatience? maybe even anger?" hmm heartless? but that wont work i still don't know the secrets of her life force... life crossed his arms. "the heartless are nothing but tolls to me. when they wipe out the human population there task is done and i will be rid of them. and i have looked into there life as well, it is no good. to obtain the information i need i cant let a heartless kill me. but i maybe able to test it on the humans here...." life was talking to him self more then any body at the end. life looked up. "i will still follow you. since your life is the result of the heartless then that path is unavailable to me. but there is always more then one way to get go a solution."

Hiro scoffed slightly at Life's words. Bad enough he seemed obsessed to perfection but even after answering his question the kid didn't even bother to address Hiro again; one track mind indeed. Shaking his head a little slowly Hiro leaned forward as his gaze turned towards Thifax.

"In any case," Hiro began in a deeply interested tone, "Thifax, was it? I'm curious about what you mentioned earlier like I should've known. What happened at Shinya? And who or what is this Xemnas?"

Hiro wasn't presumptuous enough to ignore the fact he was far from the pulse of the current going-on's in the multiverse. Initially by choice and now simply by not knowing who to go to Hiro still knew nothing of Organization XIII nor Keyblades or even the now apparent goal of Kingdom Hearts.
