I got a PHD in KICKING YOUR ASS!
|
The Wo Shing Society Nobody knows where exactly they came from, how they arrived in Hyakuji or why, or how they came to grow so powerful in such a short period of time. What most people who are aware of their existence do know about the Wo Shing, is that a couple of years ago they suddenly appeared in Hyakuji and literally swept the place off any other crime-related organization and quickly took over the city. Those who opposed them were destroyed, those smart enough to pledge their loyalty and alliance to Wo Shing were spared and kept as underlings, mere pawns at their service. The police tried to interfere at first, but soon realized it was on everyone’s best interest to leave the Wo Shing alone, as with the arrival of the group there was peace in the streets. No more would the small-time gangs dare fight each other on the street and hurt civilians, no more high-scale wars among the few crime organizations that used to run the city... Wo Shing had come to set order in the streets... a new order. There were those who tried to destroy them: the police department, the local government, even other so-called organizations tried to cross them. They soon learned they simply couldn’t. To this day, Wo Shing reigns supreme as head of the night scene, the underworld of crime in Hyakuji. Some people thought Wo Shing were yakuza... they couldn’t be more wrong about it. Those who know a little more about it say it is a Chinese triad which moved or branched out to Japan as they grew in power. This last version is not as far from the truth, but still not even close to what Wo Shing really is. Those who have been close enough to them and observant enough to realize it will tell you they act more like a structured army than a real triad, in which members are assigned unspoken, unofficial ranks, and they are expected to take direct orders from their superiors and never challenge their authority. Wo Shing takes the concept of ‘organized crime’ to a whole new level; their modus operandi is efficient, planned in detail and practically flawless, and most of their members are far from simple-minded yakuza thugs who are too blinded by money and social status to see beyond that and achieve real power. The truth is, nobody really knows for sure the extent of Wo Shing’s reach and influence or even what exactly it is they pursue. It is known they seek out the most powerful, smartest, most talented people they can find to join their ranks, and those who do receive many material benefits and training in the ‘art’ of crime. Many of them are of course very wealthy and are given many privileges, but it is rumored that not even the highest-ranking members of the organization know its true purpose. Most people assume it all comes down to - as in every other crime organization- money and power. But those are only the means, the tools to reach their true goals. Unknown to most, the Wo Shing Society has branches all over Asia and even in America and eastern Europe. The newest branch is actually that in Hyakuji, but despite this it seems the organization has given this little branch a lot of importance for some reason. The leader of Wo Shing in Hyakuji is Eiji Ishida, who was chosen despite his young age to lead the organization and recruit talented members of Hyakuji for the group, no matter what age, sex or background. Because of his young age, he can easily find talented, potential members while they’re still in their early stages of life, such as high school and college, and thus can be easily molded. Slowly, and in a very unusual way even for Hyakuji standards, the whole city is slowly turning into a darker place. *********** Notable Characters Eiji Ishida An otherwise common student at Hyakuji High School, Eiji went through some sudden, inexplicable changes in his personality at some point (though he was already not exactly a ray of sunshine) and decided to join Wo Shing when the opportunity knocked. Less than a year later he had been appointed leader of the Hyakuji branch along with one Seth Devaros, who was eventually sent out to Tokyo permanently, leaving Eiji as the only leader in Hyakuji. A devoted martial artist since the age of ten, Eiji is known to be able to kill a person with a single punch, be almost impossible to touch during a fight and hitting his opponents using his ki, without even having to move a finger. These abilities however have little if nothing to do with him being Wo Shing's leader, but they come in handy if anybody ever questions his authority. Seth Devaros Former co-leader of the Hyakuji branch, only Eiji seems to know (though perhaps not even entirely) what his role in Wo Shing is now, as he moved to the Tokio branch long ago. Still, whenever he comes to Hiakuji he is considered to be equal to Eiji or at the very least superior in rank to anyone else. Seth wields the power of fear, being able to awaken it in a person's mind to the point of driving them insane or to their deaths. Kabuto A higher-up from Tokyo, Kabuto was sent indefinitely to Hyakuji as second in command to Eiji. His entire life is a mystery, but rumor has it the young man is cursed. His body is covered in its entirety with traditional Yakuza tattoos except for his head, neck, hands and feet, and these come to life to attack his enemies. Apart from this, he is known to excel at using his family's katana in combat, somuch that he rarely ever needs to use the power of the cursed ink staining his body. Allen Wainwright Initially from the city of Niwa, Allen is a florist. He has a little shop with plants and flowers of all kinds, from the most common to the most exotic. People are always amazed at how lush and beautiful and alive his plants look, but the secret of their beauty is one only Allen and fellow members of Wo Shing know. See, Allen was born with a strange little power; he can suck out the water from anything, especially living beings in minutes, sometimes even seconds, to the point of killing people by dehydration. His victims will come into the shop and suddenly start drying up, soon turning into a raisin-looking skeleton and soon after that into mere dust. The water taken from his victims is used by Allen to quench his beloved plants' thirst and the dusty remains as fertilizer. Needless to say, Allen takes care of making any and every dead body brought in by Wo Shing disappear, leaving no trace whatsoever. The Head of Wo Shing Pressumed to reside in Hong Kong, said person is little more than a myth to most Wo Shing members and a made-up story to the interpol, FBI, CIA and other organizations. Most people think the (presumed) man does not exist at all, and instead the whole organization is led by a large 'board' of people from different nations. Still, there are some who at some point have claimed the man does indeed existor those who have made some brief reference to him during conversation, Eiji being one of them. ------------------------------ Benefits: By joining such a large and complex crime organization, Wo Shing members receive both special tools and training in order to improve their skills and further the organization's capabilities. Upon Joining: Universal Scrambler/communicator: A miniature yet powerful hybrid device developed by WSS scientists with technology from the Legacy world and tweaked by WSS scientists, it creates an undetectable energy field which disrupts any and all electronic bugs and listening/recording devices of any kind, as well as both still-image and video cameras in the area around the person. The invisible energy field reaches up to a mile radius, but it can be graduated for less. The device is also a powerful communicator which can't be tapped by earth means... at least not yet. Only other WSS can listen to conversations in its strange frequency. Firearm: A standard hand gun and the basic training on how to use and care for it. (your choice.) Money: It is assumed that all WSS members partake on regular illegal activities which provides them with easy money in large quatities. Do not go overboard though, you're no millionaire. At 5 completed topics: Coose 2 from the following: Firearm II: Wo Shing member is now well-trained and considered to be a really good shot with their handgun and have been given basic training on many other weapons, including military ones. Plus they have a large arsenal at their disposal from which to choose, from a revolver to automatic and submachine guns. Spy-ops: Member has been trained in how to infiltrate most public and private databases (with the help of specialized software designed by WSS hackers) as to be able to find almost anything about anyone, including low-level classified material. Martial Arts: Wo Shing operative has been trained by some of the best martial arts teachers money can buy, who have beaten said member into learning really really fast some very strong physical-only techniques and to develop their bodie's strength, stamina and reflexes. Invisible to the World: The member has been trained to erase all hi/her tracks and now simply does it automatically. No paper receipts for airplane, hotels or purchases. No real name on public records, their money comes from obscure bank accounts in other countries under someone else's name, and so forth. Basically, anybody trying to track their activities and whereabouts will go through terribly difficult, time-consiming ordeals to learn even the most basic of information... and then it'll probably be fake. After 10 completed topics: Pic 2 from the following: Firearm III (Requires Firearms II): You are deadly using your personal handgun and are well-trained on most other firearm out there. Those rare guns you've still never shot before (like a rocket launcher, perhaps, or a flame-thrower) are still quite easy for you to pick up and use normally, though not as good as the others. Martial arts II (requires martial arts I): You further your training in hand-to-hand combat and are now able to hold up against real martial artists. You have also learned quite a few deadly and crippling techniques, well-suited to your criminal lifestyle. Your body has become quite tough as well, perhaps gaining a few scars along the way. This training does not include the use of ki/chi/chakra. Eyes on the back of the head: After such a long time surrounded by enemies at all times you have learned to always look over your shoulder, see things from the corner of your eye, be able to tell if there's a car/person following you, hear subtle noises, pay attention at people's shadows even if they're behind you, instinctively looking at people around you on reflective surfaces, flashes of reflected sunlight on metallic or glass objects in the distance (such as a sniper rifle scope), etc; All this while happily drinking your coffee and eating bagels at a restaurant or having a nice conversation at a party. You probably won't be able to spot a ninja, but anybody else will have a very difficult time trying to sneak up on you. Bullet-dodging: Ok, you you can't really move faster than a bullet, but after being shot at so many times by other people you have become quite able to tell where a bullet's headed by looking at the one who shoots it. Add that to Wo Shing's 'Special Bullet-Dodging Monthly Camp and Karaoke Contest' and you have finally become damn good at foretelling where a person is aiming just before they shoot and great reflexes to actually pull it off (and a pretty good repertoire of songs you can actually sing without embarasing yourself). Note: the closer the attacker is to you the more difficult it is to dodge, of course; and of course the higher your enemy's skill is the harder it'll be for you to pull it off; also it is impossible to dodge sniper shots this way for obvious reasons. Additional note: needless to say, this makes anything larger than a bullet easier to dodge, especially if hand-thrown. After 15 completed topics: Choose 1 from the following: Firearms IV (requires firearms 2&3): Your skill with guns and firearms of any kind is frightening. You can handle a gun like a true soldier too, being able to arm and disarm, take it apart, clean it and re-assemble it in seconds. Your handgun is now an extension of your body and you can quick-draw and perform difficult shots with it. You can also accurately shoot two guns at the same time and are a trained sniper. Martial Arts III (requires Martial Arts 1&2): You have reached Black Belt degree in yourchosen style. Infiltrating: You can pick locks, hotwire cars, disarm alarms, read building's blueprints, rewire security cameras and send fake images to their respective monitors, easily find and avoid laser-beam alarm triggers, cut down power, phone, internet, central air conditioning, travel through air con ducts, etc; Other resources include disguise, forgery of documents and damn good acting. You can easily fool people by pretending to be someone you're not. Assassination: "The rifle is the first weapon you learn how to use, because it lets you keep your distance from the client. The closer you get to being a pro, the closer you can get to the client. The knife, for example, is the last thing you learn." -Leon, The Professional. Anybody can shoot a gun, but a true assassin doesn't need one. Stealth, quick-thinking, careful planning, improvisation... and the use of much more subtle means such as poison, a knife or asphyxiation to kill a person are the trademark of a true professional killer. After 20 completed topics: Choose 1 from the following: Firearms V (requires Firearms 2 3 & 4): I do not aim with my hand; He who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. I aim with my eye. I do not shoot with my hand; He who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. I shoot with my mind. I do not kill with my gun; He who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father. I kill with my heart. You are a Gunslinger. Assassination II (requires Assassination I, martial arts 1&2): You are a professional killer. Silent, unseen, deadly. Contacts: You know the right people. You are admired, respected and feared by your friends, your enemies and the government. You can get practically anything you want and most people out there know not to fuck with you. Money II: NOW you are a millionaire. (Still not Donald Trump though) [/i]

You already know where I stand. Plus I ahve my own little operation going right now, and if I rejoin I'll just annex that in. The only thing is that any actual people working for me (Kyuuzo and Keri maybe) won't be Wo Shing unless they actually apply for it and want to be. I don't think Kyuuzo wants her char to join, since its not an evil char she's just doing some bodyguard work for me. Not sure where Keri stands, have yet to see if she wants to actually do it or not. |

Hey you seem to be missing a name from that list, mister :| Also, I approve everything posted here. I give them full permission to remain incharacter, and if that means your character does something on purpose to spite them, they will respond as a group like this would. You won't be able to say NUH UH I DONT WANT MY CHARACTER TO DIE if you do something silly. Keep this in mind~ |

This is what happened to the last person who acted silly. Forewarned! I was just going to link it, but I'm just going to pop it in here. Feel free to read it if you like. This is part of an old thread of the original Wo Shing. It had pretty colored text, and italics and whatnot, but I'm lazy and just straight copied it, so if something looks wierd just ignore it and read on. This was an actual character, of someone on this forum even. I won't name em unless they want themselves to be known, since they changed their name.

It´ll have to be some other reason. You'll see soon enough that if she as a character doesn't have the enormous urge and thirst for power, not the stomach for it, and/or she's not absolutely sure she wants to join more than anything in the world and plans on doing this for the rest of her life (which might actually turn out to be surprisingly short if she decides to change her mind), she'll actually end up tortured and dead, possibly killed by Kuro himself. Read my first post VERY CAREFULLY. @ Amaya: fixed xD @ Kyuuzo2: does that mean you're joining? @Everyone else: Great, you're all welcome to trial for it ^__^ I'll give it a few more days before making the topic so stay tuned. |

Actually have a plot thing, but it requires an open thread with a dispensable delivery man. Any one up for it in the Wo Shing. The character is already dead Amoral, he just needs pointing in the right direction. |

@Eiji - Yea I understand. I have just yet to find an IC reason to why she would want to join. But once she's allowed to join, she won't think twice about. I don't really see her as someone who changes her mind easily. |
