Finale Event II: War Against Organization XIII

Posted by Hiro_Tsukasa (Admins) at Yesterday, 9:24 PM. One comment

The time has finally come. Led into the depths of Traverse Town's Third District by Oxkito the assembled force awakened a gateway leading into The World That Never Was. The final battle against Organization XIII, Xemnas and the fate of the Multiverse has begun.

Alright so this is pretty basic. After you post in 1B that you enter The World That Never Was you get to pick where you end up. 1 Character ends up at ONE thread. I'd encourage you to not group your characters unless you have reason so you can experience two Nobody Boss Fights but that's your call in the end.

If you're a late comer to the game you can just go ahead and post in these threads and not fool with Part I. Please not that after all this whenever Part III begins (which will be with Xemnas) you may no longer late-join the Event.

The Nobody Controller(s) in each thread have the authority for their own thread and you should treat them as Staff running a plot whether they are on the Staff or not. Once all the battles have ended we'll move to the next stage. If one battle finishes up early then chill and do random posting or something with your slots (aka no battlehopping).

I've went through and gathered the links to give everyone quick access labeled by main location then the Nobody that's there. Also, it can be hard to gauge but try to fan out evenly. I know some have personal IC reasons to pick one over another but I'd like to not see one with 20 people while another has like 2. But whatever, we'll make it work.

Also as a final note, Seph's Nobody doesn't have a thread. I'm not sure if that's part of some planned bit I was left out on or he just didn't get the memo. I assume he'll post here and clarify ^^;

Also as Marek abandoned us again assume Arxdelf died already somehow XD And for those who missed the threads Thifax and Scripsyx already met their demise in previous threads.

FINALLY PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, that these main threads vs. the Nobodies are merely a part of a large war going on. Think about the Battle against 1000 Heartless in the 2nd KH game or any battle in LOTR if you've read the books/seen the movies. All around the castle and Dark City are generics (Arcadians, Order Knights, BOARD RioTroopers, etc. engaging against Heartless and generic Nobodies). So feel free to reference that as much as you want.

I feel like I'm forgetting something but I am excited so I'll stop here. If you have any questions/something is unclear/etc. then ask it here and I'll do my best to quickly rectify it and update this top post for all to see.

Season 2 Finale: Starting Event has begun!

Posted by Hiro_Tsukasa (Admins) at Feb 28 2010, 05:14 AM. 8 comments

Yep, it's finally time everyone. This is the event that will kick off the Finale for this Season's Story Arc.

I would suggest being familiar with the following two threads for the sake of the full experience:

1) http://hyakujihigh.net/topic/2939383/1/
2) http://hyakujihigh.net/topic/2976963/1/

As for the thread it's located here: http://hyakujihigh.net/topic/2988021/1/

Now, with that out of the way there's some OOC business to be handled about it. Due to time jumping and the Alignment Levels and what not this kinda jacked up making a 6-10 range once people hit 5 and so forth.

So instead EVERYONE on the site for all new threads and the Finale are considered "Max" Level (put that in your sigs if you wish). And as such you have access to levels 1-5 of the Alignment powers and also each Alignment will gain the following abilities:

Light
-You can now summon a second Keyblade and Dual-Wield them.
-You can use your own "Drive Form" (you think up the title, design and looks, etc.). This form is usable once per individual battle in a single thread and while active doubles all capabilities/abilities you have. It lasts for 5 consecutive posts and then wears off. In the unlikely event you're entirely unfamiliar with Kingdom Hearts then think of this as a "powered up form" uh easy to think of examples would be like Super Saiyan in Dragon Ball or the like.

Dark
-You can now summon a single Keyblade.
-You can summon Heartless up to the highest rank (excluding bosses).
-You can now create spheres of pure concentrated darkness and control them. Upon striking someone they deal multi-hit damage.

Neutral
-You can now summon a single Keyblade.

Yes, even Neutrals finally get something. The emergence of the Keyblades for everyone is meant to reflect the fact that regardless of the path one is walking a common threat has emerged for everyone and thus all hearts are in tune with the same goal (aka moar Kingdom Hearts BS they throw at you every 5 minutes in the games).

Anyways, go post in the thread I linked and then once everyone is assembled there and what needs to be done in that thread is done the way to The World That Never Was will be provided and then things will properly heat up. If there are any questions about the new Alignment Powers or stuff you think should be better clarified post here and I'll hammer it out better as I admit it's a bit of a rush job from the original notes I had from Amaya and I brainstorming them.

Are you pumped? I am ^^

Happy 5th Birthday Hyakuji

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY SHIN HYAKUJI HIGH SCHOOL!

That's right... today at precisely 1:30pm in the afternoon FIVE YEARS ago, after all the planning between Makenshi and myself had closed up, I registered "hyakujihighrpg" with Invisionfree's forum service and Hyakuji High School was created. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think, at that moment, that five years later Hyakuji would not only still be going on but going so well.

Originally it was something created by Makenshi and I as a means to sort of vent in a sense. During that time we were both massively active on what was my first forum roleplaying experience Alone in the Wind: A Gundam RPG. And like any sort of game based on war it had plenty of OOC Drama that many times dealt with. I guess to explain a bit more for those that don't know the story, Mak and I headed an alliance of two factions on the board and as a consequence bonded a good bit between trying to deal with the "other side."

During this time we repeatedly wished there was a place where war wasn't the focus, somewhere that was just chill, didn't have all the arguments, some place we could have comedic scenes, romance, fighting that maybe wasn't so serious business or because of war. From that one desire we eventually settled on the idea of an Anime High School. Back then there weren't many to find as we looked for other forums to see examples of how it went. There was the Anime High School forum and maybe one or two others. However, still realizing the potential for such a setting to encompass a very wide numbers of genre (whereas by contrast a Gundam rpg can ONLY cater to the genre it exists in) we went through with it.

I'm not going to give a whole retrospective... I could probably write a book on the OOC History of the forum and who knows maybe I will one day. Hyakuji has been through its ups and downs, amazing moments and rather bad ones too. Even though we wanted a place without arguments they still occurred, but let's be honest here... that's being an idealist and this is the internet. However, I think after five years much of the major issues we have had over time are either resolved into permanent end or simply bad eggs that are now gone and moved on from caring about throwing their weight around here.

So, to celebrate five years of Hyakuji I prepared some gifts for the site as a whole cause let's face it.... yes Mak and I came up with the idea, yes I was the original owner of the first forum, yes a lot of Staff carried the site for awhile without me, yes Cyp has been on and off the Staff more times than any of us can keep count of, BUT it is every single one of us here... whether you're on the Staff, a member for years or you just joined this week... it is all of us that makes Hyakuji what it is and we all deserve a pat on the back for it.

So present time... I threw together quite a few things and on the sneak as most of the Staff wasn't even clued in on it. Let's just go in order:

NUMBER ONE

Hyakuji High Movie Night! This is more of a thing being organized by Cypriss but it's being announced now. It was an idea originally from and pioneered by CaptainFreetime over on Shinya that Cypriss presented to me for approval and attempting to try here. We're all about the community here so this is something playing to that. Some night in the future we'll have a movie streaming with a chat we can all join and side by side watch the movie and chat together. It also has some cool graphic art on its page provided by Quin. I'll leave it up to Cypriss to hand out all the details on that and hammer out a possible date where the most number of people could be on to enjoy it.

NUMBER TWO

Hyakuji has always been something of a forerunner for new ideas. By that I mean testing new stuff that might be cool so we can use it if it works and then everyone else copycat us ^^; Well, as we're heading up to this new season I thought it was time to push at that some more. Social Networking is, unfortunately, all the rage right now. However, after dwelling on this more I realized we can use it to our advantage not only to make the site classier but also have some fun features that make us even more unique.

So, Hyakuji now has its own official Twitter page located here: http://twitter.com/Hyakuji

Any news posts will now be announced through the Twitter asap after their posting (And that means if you can access twitter via your cellphone or other device YOU CAN IMMEDIATELY KNOW THERE IS NEW NEWS AT HYAKUJI EVEN WHEN NOT AT A COMPUTER). We might also use it for other fun stuff like pointing out cool threads worth reading (let's face, sometimes we all get a bit too busy and neglect threads that don't involve us) or maybe even in the future contests or promotions for ITAMS exclusively through Twitter.

So if you have Twitter add us, if you don't I suggest signing up and following us. It's the "it" thing right now anyways and I encourage those that follow us to feel free to tweet about the site and spread the word. For now the Twitter account has some filler avatar and background (though a very nice photo that we used); in the future I hope to get something more proper whipped up by one of our more graphically inclined members.

NUMBER THREE

This kind of goes along with the previous surprise. Hyakuji High now also has its own official Facebook Fan page. Once again, social networking is the it thing right now and I think that over time Facebook has kinda shown itself the successor over Myspace (which has become a denizen for friend whoring and badly angled photos). The Fan page is synced to our Twitter account so automatically when we send out a tweet it will simultaneously be posted as a status update to the Fan Page.

The fan page also has a Banner Gallery of all past banners we've used (and even some that were good but never got used) and a second gallery of gag photos or stuff that relates to memes on the site. Fans can also upload their own photos into a special fan-album so feel free to add your own stuff maybe character images or more funny stuff. Kind of like the twitter I wasn't able to really get ahold of anyone to help make a proper display photo for the fan page so for now I just used my avatar here as I've had it long enough it's pretty iconic. In the future I'd like to get a logo or something of the site name and replace it. Anyways...

So if you've got a facebook account become a fan of the site: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hyakuji-High/336423257040?ref=ts

NUMBER FOUR
And finally I saved the very best for last. All week I've been secretly digging deep and working hard and have produced the first new Hyakuji amv in ages meant to commemorate the past years on the site. I'll admit I had a bit of an easy time simply making it as a composite from footage from past videos but with the emphasis being nostalgia. I truly and sincerely think that I've outdone myself with this one. Much of the action as far as what's going on in clips flows very well with the music with transitions or certain actions occuring right along with the beat.

It was made with one theme in mind... to simply commemorate the history of this site and also embody all the things we love it for... the comedy, the romance, (maybe a loli or two to the detriment of a former Admin), the hard hitting action and of course a little BOUNCE in there too. So I entreat you to watch it, enjoy it whether you catch all the site-related references or it means little more than a generic amv, comment on it, rate it (well preferably :P) and pass it on to your friends since we were the site that pioneered using site-themed amv's to promote the place.

Watch the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K13TxWgNR0Q

As a final note, whenever the new season starts and we properly register our site on RPG-D to try and draw in new people I'll be embedding this video in our application on there so we can have a nice classy looking form and people can get a nice intro to the craziness they're about to become a part of.

====

So there you go... Hyakuji's now all digitally hip and hooked into the age of social networking, we're going to have a bitchin' movie night in the future and we've even got a swanky new amv to promote the site with.

However, while all this is nice the most important thing is simply that all of you are here right now, all of you are reading and posting and roleplaying and we're having a damn good time doing it.

I've been going through a lot recently, on a personal note, and it's reflecting on stuff right now that I realize having Hyakuji as something to work and play on has really pulled me through some tough times emotionally and given me an outlet for not only entertainment but for working out my own feelings through roleplaying. So never let it be said that I simply do all this stuff for the site for you and don't get anything back out of it; I most certainly do and I appreciate it and all of you being here so much.

Happy 5th Birthday Hyakuji, never thought we'd make it to five but let's see how far we can go~

New Feature: Dice Roller Script

Posted by Hiro_Tsukasa (Admins) at Feb 22 2010, 05:58 PM. 9 comments

Alright so thanks to Cap's awesome hunting skills we now have a Dice Rolling code for the forum. Let me state up front that this will have ZERO IC roleplaying use. The last thing I want to do is take our Freeform system that already works and bog it down with dice rolling and shit. You're welcome to use it in personal roleplays if there is a valid reason (like... oh... let's say your characters are actually rolling dice for some reason... who knows *shrugs* it would've made a lot of sense when Bakura was a villain way back).

So, with that out of the way what is it for? FUN IN THE COMMUNITY!!! We have a pretty friendly community overall but more fun is more good right? From here on people will be free to organize and run tabletop roleplaying games in the Random RP Area (located as a sub-forum under the General Chat forum).

Cap's already doing so with a game of Big Eyes, Small Mouth that will be a matter of IC/OOC with a non-canonical story where our characters make BESM characters and play the tabletop themselves lol.

Anyways, if you have no interest in this kind of stuff it's cool... just know that it is there. So go for it... BESM... D&D.... whatever you like; one day I swear I'll run a game of Paranoia XP and blow everyone's mind.

====

To discuss the dice rolling code I think it's easiest to just copy the guide the creator used:

Quote:

Format explained

The format is something like so: [result=(NUMBER OF TIMES)d(NUMBER OF SIDES)+(EXCESS)]NaN[/result]

It can also handle multiple dice being rolled, even without excess. The only restriction is it must have a number in front of the dice, like 1d12, which is common and standard format in games. The D can be capital, too, like 3D14.

example: [result=3d5+5+4d6+3]33[/result] or [result=3d5+4d6+1]23[/result]

Security features: While these will be no hindrance to anyone that knows their way around the web significantly, the script does have some features in place to prevent most cheaters. Firstly, once a post has a roll in it, it is no longer editable. If a person attempts to copy the result tag into a new post, it will ask him not to cheat and prevent the form from submitting. If a person copies the URL of an edit to a post, then does a roll, and attempts to paste the URL and change the result, it will ask him not to cheat and prevent the edit.

Also, after the roll has been submitted, the browser will parse the result tag and display it in a friendly format. It will actually be a link. When you click on the link, you'll get an alert box with the roll they used to make sure that anyone who gets a high roll actually used the right dice required.

Something he is kinda vague on is that you can totally leave the excess off cause there are plenty of formats that don't use that.

====

Finally, As far as organization for the Random RP Area you can feel free to do it however you want. My own suggestion is to use 2 threads for a game one marked away for IC and one for OOC so that it's not a boggy mess when stuff has to be hammered out. If you have friends you think would wanna run a game or play with you here feel free to invite them. While I'd prefer everybody present to be roleplaying IC for Hyakuji I'm honestly not going to mind more friendly faces and who knows maybe with time they'd join in-game as well.

If you have any questions feel free to lodge them here along with comments, if you find any errors or bugs or crap with the dice roller then report them to me via PM. I'll be adding the explination of how it works and much of what I said to the Rules as well.

Also, when you post here do yourself a favor and try out the dice code by making a roll... 4D6, WHO CAN GET THE HIGHEST?

[result=4d6]19[/result]

Finale Prequel Stuffs and All Hiro's News

Posted by Hiro_Tsukasa (Admins) at Feb 21 2010, 05:42 PM. 20 comments

Alright, so some good news and some bad news...

Good news is everything is on track for the Finale going off very soon. First of all in ever moving towards ending this story arc I thought I should let people know that they ought to read/keep tabs on this thread: http://hyakujihigh.net/topic/2939383/1/

Aside from revealing where the Principal has been all season it's also going to be giving out some backstory and setting us up even closer for the Finale. Some people have been asking about levels past 5 since many are hitting that now and what I've decided is to not fool with it and since we are doing the whole skip rest of World Plots thing whenever the Finale does begin everyone will be considered "MAX Level" and at that time I'll announce all the Alignment Powers each one would gain.

====

Now, for the bad news. Regarding my All Hiro's Side Event which as those of you involved probably noticed has been massively delayed (which I thank everyone involved for not droning or railing on me for it, I dunno if that's out of fear from the past or geniune kindness but XD). Yeah, uh... things aren't so good around here and that's been messing with me as many know it can and then fuck with me posting consistently, but it occurred to a lot greater degree this time than I honestly thought it would. Ontop of that I was persuaded added back in an element I was planning to take out but this needed a reliance on someone to post and then they bailed on me so that was also a factor for mounting delays.

After some consideration over all of this, I've decided to regrettably close it out seeing as it wasn't a major part of the storyline and was essentially a side-story and I think the sooner we can get on with a proper ending and to next season the better. I really sincerely appreciate that so many people showed interest in something that was essentially just a self-service side-story focused solely on characters I've made; it means a lot to me. So sorry to everyone that got involved ;_;

However, I'll now go ahead and give out prizes for it because there was some damn quality posting done in the Event and I'm sure more was going to come. All of you deserve the rewards even if I'm closing it. So, those involved in the Event all gain a level and you may pick ONE of the following items:

Name: Portable Distortion Field
Type: One-Time Use
Description: This small handheld futuristic device was developed by Commander Tsukasa for use by ground personnel. It contains a minaturized system of what the Mobile Battleship Nadesico uses for its Distortion Field. By simply pressing the button will activate it and surround the user and any adjacent people in a mini-distortion field capable of blocking any and all projectile based attacks including physical-based objects, energy or even magical spells. Because this is a prototype model it is very unstable and breaks down into utter destruction after being used once.

Name: Z-Saber R
Type: One-Time Use
Description: A weapon developed by the Former Net Savior Hiro Tsukasa. The R stands for Real as this is precisely what this object is. A real world replica of Zero.exe's Z-Saber. Simply by grasping the hilt one can activate the Saber as a laser blade springs to life. The Z-Saber can cut through anything and as the blade is energy-based and the hilt is made of a special lightweight material the sword possesses virtually zero weight in terms of effecting holding or swinging it. This is a prototype model that burns out and destroys itself after one use.

Name: Book of the Dead Scrap
Type: One-Time Use
Description: A small scrap of paper from a page in the Professor Hiro Tsukasa's weapon: The Book of the Dead. Since it is only a scrap its power is limited. The name for any regular basic enemy (aka can't be used on other player characters, important NPC's or boss characters) when written on this scrap will die moments later from a heart attack. If it happens to be a particularly grunt-like situation (Ex: A mob of Orcs and you write down "Orc") then all enemies/mosnters of this type will fall. Once written upon the scrap no longer posesses the hint of power it once did and should be discarded as who knows what might happen if it gets recycled.

Name: Megido Stone
Type: One-Time Use
Description: A small stone incribed with ceremonial symbols by Raidou Kuzunoha. These symbols make the magical stone contain a powerful spell used by many devils. When the stone is cast to the ground the spell Megido occurs. This is a powerful spell of raw explosive magical energies that hits ALL enemies in the area and its damage cannot be nulled by any barriers or defenses.

Finally, if you have an account at the Megaman.exe RPG you'll also be gaining a special Navi Chip to commemorate the event and the cross-over which I will be announcing over there in their news. Just keep your eyes peeled over there as I'll probably have that finished and up later tonight.

Also, for anyone that actually cared about the plot I'll eventually do a summary write up and add it to the plot guide so you can see where I was going with it all.

====

Finally, in light of what happened to the All Hiro's thing... I'm announcing in advance that when the Finale begins I'm going to refuse starting/joining any threads with people so posting for Xiroh and later Xemnas will be my sole and only focus because I outright refuse to let another story arc finale go unfinished.

If you're in the All Hiro's Event then post here with which item you're taking. Likewise feel free to post if you have questions or would like to voice concerns. And again, I apologise to the people that joined All Hiro's. I may be getting my ass kicked by life and that might cause some jumps or stutters around here, but I'm not going to let it take the forum down nor fuck with the main storyline; in fact, don't dwell on it much cause I really don't want pity or something and feel like I'm just tossing around excuses. Shit happens, but the site's not going anywhere so let's roll on and outdo ourselves~

Also as a final note, I'd like to randomly throw out a thanks to all the New Moderators we've recently added as your combined efforts are already showing good results ^^

Florencia Plot Conclusion+Rewards

Posted by Hiro_Tsukasa (Admins) at Feb 8 2010, 08:57 PM. 3 comments

As discussed I've posted in the plot for Florencia and we will be bringing it to a very swift conclusion. Like literally probably 2-4 turn cycles of posting lol. It was all Dom's things so I don't have her notes or ideas and with the want to speed things along a fitting conclusion was developed that still furthers the plot.

Link for those that forgot since its been so damn long: http://hyakujihigh.net/topic/2613174/3/

Also I am going to go ahead and give out the reward for the event since you've been delayed with it for far too long already. I dunno what was supposed to be given but this is what you all get for taking place. A level of course but also all involved get this:

Name: Skydragon Emblem
Type: One-Time Use
Description: This bronze emblem holds the crest of Florencia's Skydragon Clan of Dark Elves. A bit of their fighting spirit has carried on within it infusing it with their legacy of the male line training as powerful Spellswords. By clutching the emblem tightly and calling out an element, it will shatter and form into a Magic Sword infused with the element of your choice. This blade shatters and fades away at the end of the thread it is used.

Announcing New Mods & Other Stuff

Posted by Hiro_Tsukasa (Admins) at Feb 5 2010, 12:42 AM. 13 comments

Alright, as announced I've done much deliberating over picking new mods because we really need them. Let me break it down for you. As of today I removed Dominique from the Staff. No hard feelings against her. She's a great gal and probably one of my favorite online peoples I've ever met, but at the very least some deecent level of activity is needed to serve on a Staff for a Forum.

I actually think Cypriss worded it well in the other thread when he was talking about how real life should come first and take priority but the whole being a Mod should at least be SOME priority in there between pronz and tv and other stuff.

Anyways, with that it makes the staff line up become Yosuke, Xing and myself.

THREE LONE MEN, BRAVING THE WORLD OF RUNNING A FORUM RPG ALL ALONE YET FINDING STRENGTH TOGETHER. KAMEN RIDER HYAKUJI!!!

In this way I would compare Xing, Yosuke and myself to Kamen Riders. Incedentally there are basically 3 main styles of Riders so that's also pretty fitting. So... if we already have Kamen Riders that means we're only lacking one certain thing for:

SUPER HERO TIME

So it gives me great honor to introduce your new Shin Hyakuji High School Moderators....

ModRed, upholding all the rules, Lawman!

ModBlue, currently free from responsibilities, Nickle!

ModGreen, creating documents with incredibly detailed information, Captain!

ModPink, the token female character, Chizu!

ModBlack, approving profiles rapidly, Zero!

RULES SENTAI MODENGER!!!!!!!!!

====

Sentai gags aside welcome to all our new mods. I'll be popping into the ACP right now to make it official. Also I should not the Modenger thing is a gag and I'm not really saying the little quote is their specific duty or that one is more important than the other; S'JOKE OKAY!?

Also major thanks goes to Cypriss for coming up with the Modenger gag idea~

In other news I worked out a solution for the Florencia plot to give it a conclusion thanks to a suggestion from Cypriss so those around and with a character involved there expect a post from me shortly.

XD actually... extra thanks should go to Cypriss for being a pseudo-not-mod the past day or two ^^;

Currently Chapter 1A will allow you to assist Garland in kidnapping Princess Sara from the crazed King Steve, who's still awesome.

1B will be up tomorrow, with the Light Warriors.

Note that you can enter two characters but you can't be in both 1A or 1B with one character. Either your on Garland's side or your on the Light Warriors side for now, kay?
